This amazing inlet is on Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands that make up the Whitsundays which are located off the coast of Northern Queensland, Australia. The amazing white sands that flow up down it are said to be pure silicone which comes from an underground vent. This silicone is the purest in the world, sand from this beach was used to build the Hubble telescope’s main lens. Whitehaven beach in the distant middle of this image is regarded as one of the beast beaches in the world due to the amazing white sand and turquoise waters. The Great Barrier reef lies just a few km out to sea from here.
